The world finals of the 2018 International Makers Competition was held in Suzhou on Sunday.

After a year of worldwide competition and global selection, the 2018 International Maker Competition attracted 588 entries with 10 players stood out and entered the finals.

Yang Tao, one of the finalists, showed off his all-solid-state high-energy density energy storage battery project during the competition.

This is the third year for Suzhou to host the annual global finals of the International Maker Competition. The 10 finalists represent biomedicine, artificial intelligence, environmental protection and some other fields. The final winners will be announced during the International Elite Entrepreneurship Week.

Suzhou now registers a talent pool of 2.6 million professionals that include 22200 high-end ones. 250 of the talents are funded by the Thousand Talents Plan, a talent-hunting program established in 2008 by the central government of China to recognize and recruit leading international experts in scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
