The Provincial Party and Government leaders of Jiangsu and Shandong attended a symposium held Sunday afternoon in Nanjing. Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Wu Zhenglong, Governor of Jiangsu, met their Shandong counterparts before the meeting.
The Party and Government delegation of Shandong Province arrived in Jiangsu on Saturday for a two-day visit. The delegation is headed by Liu Jiayi, secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, and Gong Zheng, Governor of Shandong.
On behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Lou Qinjian expressed his warm welcome to the Shandong Provincial Party and Government Delegation and thanked Shandong Province for its long-term support for Jiangsu's work.
He said that Shandong has an important position in the overall situation of the country, adding that the success of the SCO summit in Qingdao has been hailed by the international community by showcasing Shandong’s strong development, beautiful scenery and warm hospitality as well as the great achievements of China's reform, opening up and socialist modernization.
Shandong has created many experiences by leading the country in many fields and set an example for Jiangsu to learn from, Lou said, adding that Jiangsu and Shandong are geographically close and economically compatible, as is evidenced by mutual support in the past and the willingness to promote high-quality development on the basis of complementary advantages and enhanced cooperation in the future.
The CPC Jiangsu Provincial chief noted that under the new situation of high-quality development, we must thoroughly study the key points and paths of cooperative development through the establishment of a long-term mechanism for exchanges and cooperation, promote cooperation in fields of common concerns and jointly make greater contributions to national development.
Liu Jiayi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Jiangsu for its long-term support and assistance to all aspects of work in Shandong, especially for the help and assistance given to Shandong in the service guarantee of the SCO Qingdao Summit.
He hoped that the two provinces will join hands to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, complement each other in implementing new development concepts, and promoting high-quality development so as to better promote the economic and social development of the two provinces.

During its stay in Jiangsu, the Shandong Provincial Party and Government Delegation visited Suzhou Industrial Park Exhibition Center, Suzhou Industrial Park Biomedical Industrial Park, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and Suning Holding Group in Suzhou and Nanjing.
