The city of Jiangyin released fish fry into the local section of the Yangtze River Thursday morning. Millions of fish fry in varied species were released into the river to replenish the fishery stocks and improve the water quality. It is also meant to restore fishery resources, protect the biodiversity of the Yangtze River, and promote the sustainable development of fisheries. 160 million fish fry have been released into the Yangtze since the first one of its kind was carried out in 2002. After years of efforts, there has been a recovery of fish resources in the Yangtze River.
