Lou Qinjian inspects compulsory, vocational education

  Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, went on an inspection tour Wednesday to Nanjing, Yangzhou and Zhenjiang to investigate the development of compulsory and vocational education.

  Lou stressed that children’s education issues are concerned with tens of thousands of households and social development and progress, making it necessary to develop education programs to the satisfaction of the people, satisfy people’s demand for quality education, and lay a long-term foundation for high quality development in Jiangsu.

  During his visit to a rural junior high school in Luhe district of Nanjing, Lou Qinjian inspected the classrooms, arts room and psychological counseling center to learn about the operation of the school.

  He hoped that the competent education authorities should formulate development plans for rural primary and secondary schools by integrating the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and further promote the integration of urban and rural education.

  When visiting the Yizheng Senior High School, Lou learned more about the curriculum settings of the four-starred ordinary senior high school, the strength of teachers, the proportion of college entrance exams before he was briefed by the school teachers on improving the quality of education. He also thanked the teachers for their hard work and stressed that it is important to enhance the students knowledge structure in the high school stage which is closely related to the future development prospects of the children.

  During his visit to Jurong Senior High School, the CPC Provincial Chief walked into the robotics classroom where he watched with great interest the demonstration of electronic products designed by the children, spoke highly of the school’s active interest in cultivating children’s interest in science, and hoped that the school would further improve the students’ scientific ethics.

  Jurong Vocational School is a state-level key secondary vocational school with more than 20 majors in four major categories including agricultural gardening, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. More than 3,500 students are studying here.

  Lou Qinjian inspected the school’s electromechanical training center where he watched on-site teaching and encouraged the school to establish closer cooperative relationships with colleges and universities and more enterprises, explore cooperation models, broaden educational channels, expand social influence, and make professional skills education a success for young people.

  The CPC provincial chief also held symposiums in Luhe, Yizheng and Jurong to solicit opinions from the teachers, educational officials and parents.
