East China’s Jiangsu province has initiated its annual wheat purchase at the minimum purchase price as 80% of the wheat in the province has been harvested.
With the approval of relevant state departments, the minimum purchase price for third grade wheat produced in 2018 is 2.3 yuan per kilo. The wheat will be purchased by the province's first batch of 177 storage sites that have a storage capacity of 156000 tons.
The grain departments in various parts of the province will continue to provide farmer households with services such as clean-up, dry-generation, storage-substitution, processing-substitute, and sales-sales services to facilitate farmers in their grain sales. In addition, the Agricultural Development Bank has prepared the first batch of credit funds of RMB 20 billion to ensure that farmers will receive the money from grain sales at the earliest time.
This year, Jiangsu has further optimized the application of the mobile phone APP for grain sale, focusing on matchmaking the supply and demand and made-to-order planting in a bid to guide the farmers to launch contract planting and market-oriented grain sales. At present, the APP platform has covered 1,686 companies, 2,224 banking outlets, and 25,000 large grain producers.
