87 top-rate technicians from east China’s Jiangsu province have left Suzhou Sunday for Shanghai and Guangzhou where the national finals will be held separately. The winners will compete in the 45th WorldSkills Competition to be held in Kazan of Russia in August 2019.
There are altogether 52 events in the national final of the 45th WorldSkills Competition. The 87 athletes from Jiangsu have signed up for the competition in 51 events. Both numbers rank among the top in the country.
In 2011, contestants from Jiangsu competed in WorldSkills Competition for the first time. last year, jiangsu technicians won two gold medals and one silver medal at the world event.
In the 44th World Skills Competition held last year, Song Biao from Changzhou Technician College was honored with the Albert Award by winning a high score.
The WorldSkills Competition occurs every two years and is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world that truly reflects global industry.
The Competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skills competitions in WorldSkills Member countries and regions. They demonstrate technical abilities both individually and collectively to execute specific tasks for which they study and/or perform in their workplace.
