The International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Roads 2 Continued in Nanjing

  5月24日,“一带一路”青年创意与遗产论坛(以下简称“论坛”)在中国江苏省省会城市南京继续进行。南京是首个向联合国教科文组织申请要成为文学之都的中国城市,正是出于对文学的热爱,此次论坛的南京议程也将重点关注与文学相关的内容。

  The International Youth Forum on Creativity and Heritage along the Silk Road 2 began its second session on Thursday in Nanjing, the provincial capital of Jiangsu that has applied to become the first Chinese city declared a UNESCO City of Literature. The City’s love for literature is also shaping the focus of this part of the IYF. 

  5月24日,青年代表们参观了中国第三大的南京图书馆,在图书馆的古籍修复与研究中心学习古籍保护与修复技术。两位青年代表还向南京图书馆捐赠了图书。在南京,青年代表们将参观南京大报恩寺遗址公园,先锋书店,以及畅销书籍《虫字书》的作者---朱赢椿的工作室。

  Day one in Nanjing started with a field visit to the Nanjing Library, the third largest library in China, where the participants learnt about some ancient books preservation techniques at the Ancient Book Repair and Research Centre. Two of the participants even had the chance to make a book donation to the Library. The agenda also included field trips to heritage sites and museums such as the Nanjing Porcelain Tower Heritage Park, famous bookshops and studios in Nanjing, such as the studio of Mr. Zhu Yingchun, author of the best-selling book “the Language of the Bugs”.

  论坛青年代表还将与来自南京的青年代表一起就“青年、文化创新与创意”进行积极互动与交流。另外,论坛青年代表还将参加第八届世界历史文化名城博览会的开幕式,与出席开幕式的300多位国际嘉宾,包括多个历史与文化城市的市长,顶尖学者和非政府组织的代表们共同就“理解、分享与共赢”的主题进行讨论。

  The activities will continue with a series of talks on the themes of Youth, Cultural Innovations and Creativity where interactive sharing will be encouraged from both the Nanjing youth and the international participants. In addition, the IYF participants will attend the Opening ceremony of the 8th World Historical & Cultural Cities Expo that will see more than 300 distinguished international guests, including mayors of historical and cultural cities around the world, top-class scholars, and representatives of NGOs engaging in discussions and activities focused on the overarching theme: “understanding, sharing, and win-win”. 

  论坛于5月26日落下帷幕,遗产与文化领域的专家和相关机构,如联合国教科文丝绸之路在线平台和中国联合国教科文组织全国委员会齐聚一堂,青年代表在论坛期间探讨历史,以及文学、丝路和遗产之间的关系。

  The Forum will conclude on Saturday with two sessions that will feature first, experts and authorities in the field of heritage and culture including from the UNESCO Silk Roads Online Platform and the China National Commission for UNESCO, and second, participants conversing on the history and relationships between literature, the Silk Road and heritage.
