Governor Wu Zhenglong met Wednesday in Nanjing with Rafael Pinto, Governor of the Province of Panama, the Republic of Panama.
Wu Zhenglong welcomed Rafael Pinto’s first visit to Jiangsu. During the past year since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Panama, both sides have promoted friendly cooperation in various fields, the governor said, adding that the historic meeting between the heads of state of the two countries has pointed out the direction for strengthening exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu and the Province of Panama.
It is hoped that the two sides will work together to implement the blueprints outlined by the heads of state of the two countries, speed up the establishment of friendly relations at the provincial level, strengthen economic and trade pragmatic cooperation under the Belt and Road framework, and carry out exchanges in culture, education, tourism so as to lay a solid foundation, enhance friendship and better serve people in both places, Governor Wu said.
Rafael Pinto said that the Province of Panama will make full use of its unique geographical advantages, strengthen cooperation with Jiangsu in various fields, and jointly contribute to the extension of the Belt and Road cooperation to Latin America.
