An inspection team from the standing committee of the National People’s Congress carried out inspections in Jiangsu on statistical law enforcement from May 15 to 19. The team is headed by Ji Bingxuan, vice chairman of the standing committee of the NPC.
At a briefing held in Nanjing on Saturday, the inspection team was briefed on the implementation of statistical law enforcement in Jiangsu. Fan Jinlong, standing member of the Provincial Party Committee and executive deputy governor, made a special report on behalf of the provincial government. Chen Zhenning, standing deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, presided over the meeting.
Ji Bingxuan spoke highly of the work done by Jiangsu Province in implementing statistical law enforcement and its achievements. He emphasized that we must fully understand the important role of statistical work to promote the effective implementation of the statistical law by strengthening and improving the supervision of the people's congress, advancing the comprehensive implementation of the statistical law, and promoting the implementation of the Party's major decision-making arrangements.
Fan Jinlong reported on the work done by Jiangsu Province in implementing the statistical law. In his statement, Fan said that Jiangsu has always adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thoight on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and regards statistical work as an important aspect for the promotion of high-quality development, adding that Jiangsu will take this enforcement inspection as an opportunity to implement the requirements of the inspection team, speed up the improvement of the provincial statistical system, and ensure that all work measures are put in place.
Chen Zhenning said that the people’s congresses at all levels must actively play their roles in continuously elevating the level of statistical work in Jiangsu in the new era and better promote the “six high-quality” development in the province.
During its stay in Jiangsu, the NPC inspection team conducted field inspections in Xuzhou, Huai'an, Taizhou, and Nanjing.
