Jiangsu’s Consumer Prices Index (CPI) fell by 0.1% month-on-month in April, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed Thursday.
The country’s CPI saw a year-on-year increase by 1.8% while Jiangsu’s increased by 1.7% year-on-year.
But with the supply increase, the prices of meat, eggs, vegetables, aquatic products and fruits in April have all fell respectively compared to the prices in March.
In April, prices of food, tobacco and alcohol saw a month-on-month decrease by 1.1%. To be more specific, price of fresh vegetables fell by 3.7%; price of livestock meat fell by 3.9%; price of poultry meat fell by 0.8%; price of aquatic products fell by 0.4%; price of eggs fell by 3.9% and price of fresh fruit fell by 1.1%.
In April, the prices of other seven categories of goods and services all saw a month-on-month increase. The price of clothing rose by 0.4 %; living prices rose by 0.1 %; prices of daily necessities and services increased by 0.1 %; prices of transportation and communications rose by 0.6 %; prices of education, culture and entertainment rose by 0.4 %; price of health care prices rose by 0.1 %; and prices of other supplies and services rose by 1.1 %.
