Qualifying match for World Skills Competition gets underway

  The qualifying round of the 45th World Skills Competition in Jiangsu province went underway in Zhenjiang city Tuesday with specialists of flower arrangement, gardening and aircraft maintenance from across the province gathering to outshine their rivals.

  Four competition modules including sheet metal riveting, electronic circuit manufacturing, engine component disassembly and installation, and maintenance inspection were arranged for this selection competition.

  Shen Guanghui, a second grader from the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Traffic Technicians, was nominated for the provincial selection competition. He participated in the maintenance inspection.

  The organizers hope that through this provincial selection competition, a group of inexperienced professional and technical personnel will be cultivated.

  The 45th World Skills Competition will be held in Kazan of Russia in August 2019. The Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security launches the selection competition in 10 cities from April 5th to April 21st.

  The World Skills Competition occurs every two years and is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world that truly reflects global industry.

  The Competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skills competitions in World Skills Member countries and regions. They demonstrate technical abilities both individually and collectively to execute specific tasks for which they study and/or perform in their workplace.
