A slew of athletic activities such as marathon events have been held in Jiangsu to embrace the best season of the year.
The Marathon event in Yixing County consists of whole, half and mini marathons. Among the more than 10,000 contestants, there are enthusiasts from all over the country, as well as foreign friends working in China. Many of them were running with their families.
11 marathons events went underway across the province on Sunday. The half-marathon in Jinhu County was organized with a 12-km run in honor of the 120th birthday of Zhou Enlai, China’s late premier.
The half-marathon in Maoshan Hill of Jintan district, Changzhou city, was organized by connecting the scenic spots along the route so as to ensure that the runners would enjoy the beautiful sceneries and charm of the Daoist culture on the way. Maoshan Hill is known for its Daoist temple.
The marathon event in Kunshan city attracted 6,000 runners from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Among other athletic activities, 1824 angling enthusiasts from all over the country took part in the Hongze Lake Wetland Dayuantang fishing competition.
