Lou Qinjian, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, met on Monday in Nanjing with Kim Jin-Pyo, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Korea.
Lou Qinjian said that the exchanges between China and South Korea have a long history with close economic and trade exchanges. As China's most economically powerful province, Jiangsu has attracted a large number of South Korean companies such as Samsung, LG, and Hyundai to launch investment projects to cement the cooperation between the two sides on the basis of a good foundation.
The governments of China and South Korea have agreed to set the China-Korea Industrial Park in Yancheng, which has created better conditions for us to deepen our cooperation, the secretary said.
Lou hoped that both sides will further boost the cooperation in economic and trade cooperation through the participation of more South Korean companies in the province’s promotion of the Belt and Road initiative.
Jiangsu will further optimize the business environment and provide various services for enterprises，promote cooperation in science and technology, agriculture, education, culture, sports, tourism, and environmental protection, and deepen the cooperation between the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress and the local assembly councils of South Korea.
Mr. Kim Jin-Pyo said he and his delegation were impressed by the fact that Jiangsu is China's economic powerhouse with an excellent investment environment and Yancheng has become a model of economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to Jiangsu for its long-term support to the South Korean companies and entrepreneurs in Jiangsu.
He also hoped that the cooperation between the two sides will achieve more fruitful results.
