Life itself is a miracle. It is said that a certain slant will make the seemingly parallel lives of different people start to interact and create something unexpected.
Qiu Yu, chief audio producer for Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, has moved millions of souls recently by making one of the miracles happen. Four years ago, he made a decision to donate 10ml of his blood to the China Marrow Donor Program. Four years later, a phone call reached him, saying that his stem cells could save the life of a 12-year-old child, and he agreed without any hesitation. Cells can regenerate, he said, and life only comes once. Stem cell-mobilizing agent was injected on April 8th and collection was carried out on April 13th. Qiu Yu also became the 57th blood stem cell donor in Nanjing with his donation.
The probability of Non-consanguinity cord blood stem cell is only 1/100,000; that is to say, one person seems to be chosen to save the life of a total stranger.
If a group of cells can save one person, then more cells can save one group and everyone in the world can be saved eventually. Since the China Marrow Donor Program was established in 2002, 57 volunteers in Nanjing have donated hematopoietic stem cells. Here is the list of their names. Let's pay tribute to these ordinary yet great donors.
"I came into this world to see the sun." Russian poet Konstantin Dmitriyevich Balmont once expressed his love for the world. The donors also spread love to the world. They continue to write about other people's stories with their own ordinary but determined lives.
