46 colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province have added altogether 111 new undergraduate majors, according to a list released by the Ministry of Education. Among all the majors, those that are related to big data and artificial intelligence become popular.
The most popular major this time is “data science and big data technology”. 13 colleges and universities have started the major, including China University of Mining and Technology, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Huaiyin Institute of technology, Nantong University, Jiangsu Normal University, Nanjing Audit University. The second most popular major is “robot engineering”. 10 colleges and universities have started the major, including China University of Mining and Technology, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Hohai University, Huaiyin Institute of technology, and Nantong University.
The Ministry of Education also announced the list of revocation, of which a total of 21 majors in 8 colleges and universities in Jiangsu were revoked. China University of Mining and Technology has revoked network engineering; Nanjing University has revoked digital media technology; Jiangnan University has revoked 10 majors including animal science and printing engineering.
