Wu Guoping, an NPC deputy from the cultural tourism community, shared his viewpoints at the plenary session of the Jiangsu delegation on such topics as promoting competitive products for cultural tourism. He said that nowadays, we have a huge number of consumers but are short of competitive products as people no longer felt contented at sightseeing only. They need to experience the immersion of the mind and body in a beautiful and lively cultural atmosphere and enlighten their wisdom.
Those who have been to Lingshan in Wuxi are all amazed by the Buddhist cultural landscape there. In Wu Guoping’s view, the lasting vitality of tourism comes from both the in-depth excavation of cultural connotations and the exquisite carving of project construction. He said, Talent is the primary resource, which is true of the tourism industry. I suggest that the scientific preparation and implementation of the new round of development will strengthen the cultivation of tourism talents, integrate various types of personnel training resources, and improve the quality of tourism professionals. Only by relying on creative talents that pay attention to the inheritance of tourism can we activate history and let each tourism project become an important carrier for telling Chinese stories and bringing together Chinese feelings.
Zhang Xiaobei, an NPC deputy and news anchor of JSBC, believes that in order to boost cultural tourism, the most important thing is to pinpoint the traits of competitive products and give full play to the brand name tourism products. He said that general Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that we must be culturally confident. We must dig up the stories behind each tourist attraction so that we can achieve good economic returns and good social benefits.
NPC deputy Ke Jun suggested that the charm of Jiangsu traditional operas be blended with the unique tourism resources of the water-rhythm Jiangsu so as to effectively enhance the cultural connotation of tourism.
He said, The Nantong Opera, Huai’an Opera, Yangzhou Opera and Suzhou’s Kunqu Opera join together to constitute the very precious historical heritage along the Grand Canal. If we combine these operas with local tourism, we will certainly be able to boost the influence of theatrical operas as a whole. The influence of the operas can also allow tourists to enjoy the scenery along the Grand Canal so as to enable the tourists to experience the charm of China's intangible cultural heritages.
