Metro engineers carried out a review meeting on the feasibility study report on the project of Nanjing metro line 6 about its route alignment, construction mode, station layout, transfer station connection plan, and the establishment of the underground vehicle base in the middle of last year. They also carried out a multi-plan demonstration, comparison, selection and decided on a reasonable scheme.

The main contents of the feasibility study report meet the depth requirements. According to the contents of the report, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage gave an official reply to the protection of cultural relics involved on March 8.

The project of Nanjing Metro Line 6 involves the selection of the national key cultural relics protection units, such as Nanjing City Wall, Ming Palace Site and Ming Xiaoling Xuda's tomb. However, in view of the fact that the subway line runs through the center area of Imperial Palace of Ming Dynasty from south to north laying influences on the relics area, it is suggested that the project should be deepened on the basis of Scheme Three.

The stop of Imperial Palace of Ming Dynasty to be located

Beginning from the already existing airport line Nanjing South Station in the south to Qixia Station in the north, Metro Line 6 runs through Daming Road, Yudao Street, Ming Palace Road, Bancang Street, Hengjia Road, Yingyuan South Road, Jingwu Road, Shennong Road, and Hengjing Road.

Having a full length of 32.5 km, Metro Line 6 has 18 new located underground stops and the present Nanjing South Railway Station.

Metro Line 6 is connected with Airport Line

According to the plan of Nanjing Metro Group Co., Ltd., Metro Line 6 will be operated in conjunction with the present Nanjing Airport Line. Considering that the existing airport line also starts from Nanjing South Railway Station, Metro Line 6 will probably become a super-long line linking Lukou Airport with Qixia Mountain.
