Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu province, visited the needy people, the senior party members, rural nursing homes and the role models when going on an inspection tour in Sihong County and Shuyang County recently.
When visiting two needy households in Sihong County, the governor encouraged them to build up their confidence and lead a prosperous life under the assistance of the party committee and the government.
Shen Chengfang is hard up due to her illness over the years. Wu encouraged her to have confidence in the party and government organizations which will offer her a helping hand.
During his visit, the governor emphasized that it is necessary to focus on the issue of poverty alleviation through the establishment of a more practical and pragmatic support mechanism to address the actual situation of poverty caused by illness and disasters and make sure that no one will be left behind in the strive for a well-off society.
Wu also visited senior party members and promised that the government will take the initiative to solve their actual difficulties so that everyone can enjoy a happy life in their later years.
When visiting a rural nursing home, Wu pledged that the government will focus its efforts on building a preferential and supportive policy system to ensure that the elderly live a better life.
He also called on the people to learn from the role models when visiting the home of Xu Bing, a role model at the provincial level.
