Construction on 39 major industrial projects went underway in Jiangbei New Area of Nanjing Sunday morning. These projects cover 8 categories including smart manufacturing, life science and health. With a total investment of 70.17 billion yuan, the capital will be funded towards the industrialization projects in such leading fields as Jiangbei New Area Big Data Industrial Park and the high-end industry innovation platform of the Modern Industry Innovation Center. In 2018, Jiangbei New Area will strive for its major economic indicators to be more than 5 percentage points higher than the city's average increase. The 788-square-kilometer Nanjing Jiangbei New Area got the go-ahead from the State Council in June 2015. The Jiangbei area is launched to drive the modernization of southern Jiangsu and the economic development of the Yangtze River economic zone.
