This was what the moon last night looked like!
It is a once-in-a-lifetime, no, once-in-many-lifetimes wonder!
That’s right! It’s the super blue moon.
A blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a subdivision of a year: either the third of four full moons in a season, or a second full moon in a month of the common calendar.
But this time, it is super special because three astronomical phenomena are combined: Total lunar eclipse + Blue moon + Red Moon.
It can be seen in most part of China and some parts of Oceania and North America as long as the weather is good.The last time when the three astronomical phenomena appear together was in 1866. It is once-in-152 years opportunity!
Look at the pedestrians! Everybody wanted to take a perfect picture of the super blue moon.

Some netzines joked about the “blue moon” by saying they didn’t see the moon turning blue.
In case you don’t know, blue moon has nothing to do with the color. It is an additional full moon like we explained in the beginning of this article.
