The deputies reached the consensus on the correlation of the high quality economic development with the strategic support of science and technology innovation, which is vital for promoting the burst of the new momentum, building a modern industrial system, boosting the quality and efficiency of the real economy, and ensuring the shift of economic development from speed-based to quality-oriented and efficiency-oriented.

The speech made by Provincial Secretary Lou and the government work report delivered by Governor Wu put the innovation and high-quality development in a very prominent position, which is the province’s pragmatic implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tour of Jiangsu and the standard answer for pushing forward high-quality development. In line with the requirements of high-quality development of the provincial government, we will try our best to fulfill the requirements and boost the work to a new height.
In terms of how to make the fire of innovation even more flourishing, the deputies believed that Jiangsu should give full play to the advantage of the province’s strong industrial base and strong capability of scientific and technological innovation, highlight the status of the leading enterprises in the course of innovation, strengthen the cooperation among industry, universities and research institutes, speed up the transformation of scientific and technological achievements so as to build the world's industrial innovation center of science and technology and the advanced manufacturing base with international competitiveness.
