1st Session of 13th Provincial People’s Congress to kick off

  808 delegates attending the first session of the 13th People's Congress of Jiangsu Province registered to the annual session which will see leadership reshuffle.  

  The new NPC deputies come from all walks of life with the overall structure further optimized.

  569 delegates are newly elected. 50 of them are workers at industrial enterprises, accounting for 6.2% of the total. 59 of them are farmers, accounting for 7.3% of the total. More delegates have come from the education, science and technology, culture, healthcare and social work sectors.

  The blizzard did not stop delegates from hiking their enthusiasm for performance. They said that they must fulfill their mission, exercise due diligence with full enthusiasm and pass on the voices of the people.

  The new delegates made surveys and investigations at the grassroots communities with the topics involving economic development and people's livelihood, focusing on social and economic construction for a new Jiangsu.

  Zhao Shuai, a delegate from Suzhou, is 23 years old this year and is the youngest member of the provincial delegation. He won a Taekwondo gold medal at the Rio Olympic Games to achieve a breakthrough in Chinese men’s Taekwondo event. By attending the annual legislative session, he is particularly concerned on the sports development in Jiangsu.

  The annual legislative session will be broadcast live on the satellite channel, public news channel of JSBC, Jiangsu Radio and Litchi News.
