The speech delivered Thursday morning by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the provincial party committee, at the opening ceremony of the first session of the 12th provincial people's political consultative conference sparked heated discussions by portraying a beautiful blueprint of a new era for the members of the provincial CPPCC and all the people in Jiangsu Province.
The delegates said that they should push forward the development of Jiangsu under the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics and the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tour to Jiangsu early last December.
The delegates also expressed their determination to insist on starting from a high standard for the promotion of a well-off society and explore new ways of building a moderate prosperous society so as to make new contributions to opening up a new horizon of socialism with Chinese characteristics
