
The deputies to the 11th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference or CPPCC have made remarkable contribution to the province’s social and economic development by implementing the spirit of the 18th and 19th CPC National Congress, acting in accordance with the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, making proposals at annual sessions and participating in the administration and discussion of state affairs.
Wu Zhishen, a deputy to the provincial committee of CPPCC, has been concerned over the development of intelligent manufacturing in Jiangsu in recent years. Wu, a professor of Nanjing-based Southeast University, has organized experts to visit enterprises and research institutes since 2013 and on the basis of his investigation come up with a proposal on the development strategy of intelligent manufacturing in response to Industry 4.0.
The provincial commission of development and reform and the provincial department of science and technology soon dealt with his proposal which provided new ideas for the province to explore new technologies, new business models and new patterns for intelligent manufacturing through the introduction of talents, research and industry collaboration, coordination of the industrial advantages between the upper streams and lower streams of the corporate sector, international cooperation and follow-up resource integration.

Yin Baolin, a deputy to the provincial committee of CPPCC, has been concerned about the development of the sports industry. During the 5th session of the 11th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, he submitted a proposal on strengthening policy support and developing fitness and leisure industry.
His proposal targets such problems as the underdeveloped scale of Jiangsu's fitness and leisure industry, insufficient effective supply that fails to trigger consumer spending, making better use of the outdoor, water and air sports resources, cultivating the innovation environment of fitness and leisure industry and perfecting the tax policy of public sports facilities.

Over the past five years, the deputies to the provincial CPPCC committee have submitted 3626 proposals with 3345 accepted. These proposals concerns the suggestions for the promotion of high quality development, the improvement of people’s livelihood, the enhancement of environmental protection and the promotion of harmony and stability for better social governance.
