The Jiangsu Provincial Industrial Technology Research Institute is the cradle for promoting industry commonality and major strategic forward-looking technologies and the incubation center for high-tech enterprises to gather high level new research and development institutions. The new facilities of the institute being constructed on the northern bank of the Yangtze River are expected to give a strong impetus to the province’s strong support for promoting the province’s position in the national innovation system in an all-round way.
The institute has launched specialized institutes in Nanjing, Changzhou, Suzhou, Yancheng and Nantong since its inception four years ago with the research focus laid on new materials, equipment manufacturing and electronic information against the backdrop of some 6000 professionals.
The establishment of research and development platform in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area means that the layout and management of professional institutes will bring about more centralized and efficient achievements for the organization and implementation of major projects, the agglomeration of innovative resources and results, technology transfer and investment and financing services.
In 2018, the Industrial Technology Research Institute will accelerate the construction of the headquarters while putting more energy, resources and funds into the introduction of new major innovative resources by focusing on the support of new research and development institutions, trans-field cooperation, interdisciplinary research breakthroughs to incubate more than 100 startups.
The institute has joined hands with Nanjing Jiangbei New Area and the membrane technology team of Nanjing University of Technology to set up a hybrid membrane research institute in a bid to introduce 50 innovative teams through 3 to 5 years of efforts and come up with an industrial cluster with more than 3 billion yuan of output value each year.
