The restoration scenes of the 5 main sites of the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City and 279 fine artifacts from the Imperial Palace in Beijing were exhibited at the Nanjing Museum on Saturday to make their debut out of the Forbidden City for the first time.
The scenes were restored in the ratio of 1:1 to come up with a condensed history of the Forbidden City alongside with the cultural relics exhibition.
The exhibition results from the five-year restoration of the Yangxin Hall of the Forbidden City launched in 2015. the Yangxin Hall is closed to visitors during the restoration. The Imperial Palace Museum has decided to make the cultural relics of the Yangxin Hall on a national tour for the first time in order to better show the history of the palace.
