The volume of foreign trade surged 20% year on year in the January-November period to indicate a continue track of steady growth since the start of this year.
Statistics from the Nanjing Customs show the province’s imports and exports totaled 3.63 trillion yuan during the 11-month period, up 20% from a year ago and accounting for 14.5% of the national total. The figure also saw a 0.6% rise from the same period of last year.
Exports totaled 2.23 trillion yuan, up 17.5% year on year. Imports added up to 1.4 trillion yuan, surging 24.3% from a year ago.
The growth rate is higher than the national average in terms of the imports, exports and total trade volume.
The structure of the foreign trade has been optimized with the proportion of the high value-added products rising compared with general trade.
The volume of general trade totaled 1.74 trillion yuan during the 11-month period, up 21.2% from a year ago and accounting for 48.1% of the national total.
Thee volume of imports and exports from processed trade totaled 1.49 trillion yuan, up 16.1% from a year earlier and making up 41.2% of the entire trade volume.
The export of electric and mechanic products kept the growth momentum with the export of cell phones, tablet computers and laptop computers picking up substantially. The three categories of products contributed 18.3% to the province’s entire foreign trade growth during the period.
The imports of iron ore, coal and e-products climbed at a fast rate from a year ago.
