A party and government delegation from east China’s Jiangsu province visited northwest China’s Shaanxi province Monday and Tuesday for the exchange of views on the study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the paired assistance for the poverty alleviation campaign in Shaanxi.
The Jiangsu delegation was headed by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee, and Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu.
Hu Heping, secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee and Governor of Shaanxi, accompanied the Jiangsu guests on the investigation tour. He also attended a seminar on the cooperation of poverty alleviation in Shaanxi.
Lou Qinjian, who was secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee just one month ago, remarked that he owes a debt of gratitude to Shaanxi where he had worked for more than 7 years before he was appointed chief of the CPC Jiangsu provincial committee.
The cooperation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi is the important political task entrusted to us by the CPC central committee, Lou said, adding that under the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, the party committees and governments of Jiangsu and Shaanxi will work more diligently for closer cooperation and more fruitful results.
Lou also hoped that both sides would seize the opportunities brought about by the country’s Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt development to boost the growth momentum for win-win achievements.
Hu Heping remarked that the visit to Shaanxi by the Jiangsu party and government delegation is an important measure for the study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the implementation of the east-west poverty alleviation cooperation, adding that it is also the practical action to deepen the cooperation and exchange between the two provinces, which fully embodies the concern and love from the party committee, and provincial government and the people of Jiangsu.
Hu spoke highly of the Jiangsu-Shaanxi cooperation, in particular the poverty alleviation cooperation which has helped to boost the economic development in the underdeveloped regions of Shaanxi.
He also pledged that authorities in Shaanxi will step up its efforts for the implementation of the series of cooperative agreements between the two provinces so as to boost the poverty alleviation campaign and achieve the poverty alleviation goals.
A framework agreement was signed between the two provinces on the supply of electricity from Shaanxi to Jiangsu. 17 cooperative agreements and 28 poverty alleviation agreements were also signed between the two provinces.
The Jiangsu delegation also visited Yan’an city to worship landmarks of the Chinese revolution such as Baota Hill, the former site of the 7th CPC National Congress at Yangjialing and the memorial square at Zaoyuan where Mao Zedong delivered his famous speech Serving the People.
