Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, said that the study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the overall development of Jiangsu should serve as the guideline for the development of the province’s transportation sector. He made the remarks when making an inspection tour of the province’s transportation sector on Thursday.
In his first leg of the inspection tour, Lou visited the provincial integrated emergency center for traffic transportation command to learn about the operation through the monitoring screen of the real-time traffic and transportation, in-depth understanding of the overall design of the province's traffic information, integrated traffic monitoring platform and traffic large data applications.
It is hoped that the transportation authorities will come up with the solutions to the unbalanced railway development and weak aviation through big data analysis so as to carry out more systematic research and propose a more scientific solution, Lou said.
The CPC provincial chief made a careful inquiry over the province’s layout for the railway networks, the cross-Yangtze tunnels and the civil aviation airports through the briefings given by the leaders of the provincial department of transportation, Nanjing Lukou Airport and the provincial office for railway construction.
Lou noted that transportation is of fundamental, strategic and pioneering roles for economic growth and social development, adding that the development of the province’s transportation sector should be promoted by adhering to the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the important speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the overall development of Jiangsu.
We should earnestly study new problems, firmly grasp new opportunities, make great efforts to adapt to the new demands of the times, promote the exploratory development, innovative development and directive development of transportation sector, he said.
Lou Qinjian stressed that the promotion of the development of the transportation sector demands a higher position and wider vision so as to strengthen scientific planning that live up to the glorious mission of pioneering the national development and the sound foundation that has been consolidated through the efforts of generations of people.
He also demanded that the systematic planning for the development of the transportation sector should give priority to the province’s junction role of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the national independent innovation demonstration zone in southern Jiangsu.
In view of the problems existing in the development of railway, aviation and port industries, we should strengthen the exploration in the system mechanism, quicken the progress in the planning and construction so as to take the initiatives in the work ahead, he said.
