Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, went on an inspection tour in Wujiang district, Suzhou city, on Thursday.
The governor emphasized the importance of being guided by the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.
In his first leg of the tour, the governor visited Hengtong Group, a service provider in optical fiber optic network, power grid, big data and Internet, to learn about its intelligent manufacturing, technical process and enterprise sales, profit margin, international market share and overseas industrial layout.
The governor spoke highly of the group’s efforts for the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship for the purpose of gaining an upper hand in the severe competition on the global market.
He also encouraged the company to grasp the new generation of information technology development through the continued efforts in strategic innovation, talent innovation, technological innovation, mechanism innovation, capital innovation so as to seize the commanding heights in the new round of industrial competition.
Wu also made an inspection tour of the eastern flank of the Taihu Lake to make inquiry into the cleanup and protection of the lake areas. He urged local governments to boost environmental protection in accordance with the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the important speeches made by Xi Jinping on Jiangsu’s overall development.
