Lou Qinjian, secretary of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met on Wednesday in Suzhou with Singapore Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat and his entourage.
Lou remarked that Jiangsu and Singapore have very close cooperative relations in many fields and the Suzhou Industrial Park, as an important cooperation project between the two governments, has become an important window for China's reform and opening-up and modernization drive.
The Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council established a decade ago has made a positive contribution to the promotion of bilateral relations.
Jiangsu is willing to cement its ties with Singapore which has accumulated a lot of successful experiences in the modernization drive with remarkable advantages in financial investment, international trade and ecological environment, the head of the provincial CPC committee said.
Heng Swee Keat said he has been deeply impressed by the achievements Jiangsu has made in the past years.
He pledged that Singapore will give full play to the Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council by seizing the opportunities of the Belt and Road initiative and the advancement of the national innovation demonstration base in southern Jiangsu to promote the practical cooperation with Jiangsu in the fields of science and technology innovation, talent training and overseas presence of local enterprises for the enhancement of friendly relations between the two sides.
