Chinas civil aviation industry witnessed a record high flight on-time performance of 83.29% in October, a recent high in 101 months since May 2009, data from the Civil Aviation Administration of China showed Tuesday.

44850 flights were recorded in October, a daily growth of 10.42% from a year ago.

Poor weather conditions account for 47.62% of the flight delays in October, CAAC data shows.

According to China Meteorological Observatory, the strong cold air from the north in November will bring about snowfall to affect the flight on-time performance in Shenyang, Harbin and Urumqi airports.

Low visibility from the haze and fog will also disrupt normal flight operations in north China, northeast China and the central part of east China.

From now until March 24 next year, China's civil aviation will enter the new season, covering 50 domestic airlines and 13 Hong Kong and Macao Airlines, as well as 143 foreign airlines.

In the meantime, China's civil aviation industry witnessed an average growth of 11.2 percent in flight hours over the past five years.

Annual flying time has soared to 10.5 million hours, up from 6.19 million hours, over the past five years, with total number of civil planes increasing to 3,177 from 1,922.
