Scientific and technological innovation has been in smooth progress since the start of this year, according to figures released by the Provincial Science and Technology Department on Tuesday.
The province's output of core patent has been further improved while the pilot reform of the scientific and technological innovation system has made significant progress.
The number of valid invention patents reached 169,860 in the January-September period, a year-on-year growth of 18.3%. The number of valid invention patents for every 10000 people reached 21.3 pieces, up 18.1% from a year ago and a gain of 2.95 pieces compared with the end of last year.
Jiangsu registered 410500 new enterprises in the first three quarters of this year, up 7.99% from a year ago. The number of the hi-tech enterprises increased to 13000.
Jiangsu also registered 582 scientific and technological incubators with more than 30000 startup firms being incubated.
34.6 billion yuan of loan had been granted to 4518 enterprises and the scale of the venture capital management fund had surged to 210 billion yuan by the end of September.
The reform and development of the Industrial Technology Research Institute is obvious with 24 new project managers recruited globally this year, adding to the total of 41. Through the project manager system, 300 high-level experts at home and abroad had been hired and 36 research institutes had been launched. More than 2000 scientific and technological achievements had been transferred and more than 400 scientific and technological enterprises had been incubated during the period.
