73 scholars from 27 universities in Jiangsu have been appointed distinguished professors by the provincial department of education with the approval from the provincial government. The selection process goes from recommendation by the universities, expert review to publicity and conference deliberation. Jiangsu Distinguished Professor Program is a talent-recruiting program set up by the provincial government in the start of 2010. 411 professors have been selected and 85% come from high level overseas universities and the world's top scientific research institutes.
