Baohua town in Jurong city, East China’s Jiangsu province won a title of the “most charming destination for private tours in the Yangtze River Delta region” at the Yangtze River Delta slow-life tourism summit Oct 13.
The town stood out from various places within the Pan-Yangtze River Delta region, covering Shanghai city, Zhejiang province and Jiangsu province as well as areas along the Yangtze River in Anhui province, after selection and assessment by an appraisal committee consisting of authoritative experts from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui. The committee also included a media appraisal team comprising 20 senior journalists for tourism reporting from 10 mainstream media outlets in China.
Located northwest of Jurong city in the core circular area of the Nanjing municipal circle, the Baohua town is served by National Highway 312, Provincial Highway 337 and the Shanghai-Nanjing intercity railway. The town’s Baohua Mountain on East China’s golden tourism route is 30 kilometers to Nanjing, Zhenjiang and Jurong cities, and the mountain — boasting nearly 30 square kilometers of forest scenery — is also hailed as the No. 1 mountain of Lyuzong, a school of Buddhism.
