Jiangsu’s delegates to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) arrived in Beijing by the Fuxing bullet train, China's latest high-speed train, Jiangsu’s media reported on Oct 16.
Wu Xie'en：more favorable policies for farmers
Wu Xie'en, a delegate to the 19th CPC National Congress and Party chief of Huaxi village of Jiangyin, Wuxi, always regards "let the farmers live a better life" as his work guideline. He would sum up the needs, opinions and suggestions of the people every month.
As the leader of Huaxi village, Wu also brought the villagers’ hope to the congress. "My fellow villagers let me bring the results of five years of development to the congress to share with everyone," said Wu. Huaxi village achieved satisfying results in the past five years: a more beautiful ecological environment, a more affluent life and a more harmonious society.
Sun Xiaoyun: write the Chinese spirit with Chinese calligraphy
Sun Xiaoyun, a delegate to the 19th CPC National Congress, vice-president of Chinese Calligraphers Association and president of Jiangsu Calligraphers Association. She was also the delegate to the 17th and 18th CPC National Congress. Sun has a strong sense of honor and responsibility and she said: "It is a great honor and responsibility for me to once again listen to the Party, and the General Secretary and convey spirit of the culture in the report of the 19th CPC National Congress. We must strive to understand the spirit of the congress, especially the various policies measures on culture."
Chinese calligraphy is a symbol of the Chinese spirit and the most representative symbol of the Chinese culture. In terms of the future cultural construction work, Sun said that she will strive to continue to promote traditional culture.
Zheng Xiang: dedicated public servant brings 19 poems
Zheng Xiang, a delegate to the 19th CPC National Congress and director of the Wenchang Garden Community in Yangzhou. She has been serving the community for 15 years. She always "stays true to the mission" and adheres to the principle of serving the people and therefore she has won the support and trust of local residents.
Zheng conducted extensive research and collected views and as a result, she recorded 19 changes she wrote in 19 poems to express the mood.
She said that the notebook with 19 changes and 19 poems express the wishes and feelings of the people. People are looking for fresher air, cleaner water, more support for the people and a clearer political ecology.
