The final of the province’s inaugural traditional craftsmanship contest for countryside talents is slated to take place in Nanjing on October 9th and 10th. 1165 contestants signed up for the qualifying round for the 20 events with 30 finalists shortlisted for each event at the final. The competition events at the final include the purple clay pottery making, wood carving, walnut carving, kite making, paper cutting and some others. One first prize, three second prize and six third prize winners will be announced for each event at the final. The award-winning finalists will be conferred the title of master of traditional technical skills in Jiangsu. Those who are excellent in both performing skills and moral integrity will be nominated for Jiangsu Craftsmen.
