The Jiangsu CPC and Government delegation continued its inspection tour in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by visiting the Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Li Qiangstressed the importance of further enhancing the "four consciousness" to implement the latest deployment of paired assistance drawn up by the CPC central committee with more solid actions, effectively boost the work of paired assistance for complementary advantages, and promote the exchange and cooperation between the two regions to a new height.
Li Qiang paid an inspection tour to Horgos Port in the company of ShohratZakir, chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Horgos Port lies at the western end of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge which reaches Lianyungang city of Jiangsu province in the east.
The Jiangsu CPC chief inspected the Horgos Urban Planning Hall, the China-Kazakhstan Horgos International Frontier Cooperation Center and the Hongdou Garment Co. Ltd to gain a deep understanding of the implementation of the paired assistance in Horgos and the exchange and cooperation between the two sides.
He hoped that Jiangsu will join hands with Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture to seize the opportunities of Belt and Road initiative for the promotion of the cooperation with the Horgos Economic Development Zone as the important link.
Li also visited the homes of the local people to inquire about the construction of infrastructures for the affordable housing projects funded by Jiangsu.
The Jiangsu delegation paid a visit Wednesday morning to the administrative service center of Yining, capital of Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture. The center was constructed with the funding support from Nanjing.
Li Qiang hoped that both sides would strengthen exchange and cooperation by learning from each other to jointly explore how to further optimize and streamline the administrative approval formalities and work together to create a good business environment.
During his visit to the home textile industry park in Yining County, the provincial CPC chief hoped that the city of Nantong from Jiangsu will help to boost the development of the home textile industry for mutually complimentary gains through the launch of investment projects under the paired assistance program.
Li Qiang also visited the Yining Nantong Experimental School which was built with the funding support from Nantong.
The Jiangsu CPC and Government delegation also carried out talks with the top leaders of the Yili Kazak prefecture concerning the progress of the province’s paired assistance programs in Xinjiang.
The paired assistance program in Yili is an important task assigned to Jiangsu by the CPC central committee, Li Qiang said, adding that Jiangsu will step up the efforts to further enhance the "four consciousness" to implement the latest deployment of paired assistance drawn up by the CPC central committee for the promotion of long-term social security by placing high on agenda the paired assistance tasks for greater efficiency.
Li Qiang finished his tour by emphasizing that the process of paired assistance in the new period is actually the process of boosting exchange and cooperation for shared development, and both sides are bound to achieve greater development by seizing the opportunities of the Belt and Road initiative.
