Five children of congenital heart diseases from Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai province have recovered and set foot on their home-bound trip Monday morning after undergoing successful cardiac operations in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province. They have become the second batch of beneficiaries of a goodwill project launched by the headquarters of the province’s paired assistance program in Qinghai and the second hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University. The five Tibetan children, ranging in age from 15 to 2, used to suffer from pulmonary hypertension, ventricular septal defect and other congenital heart diseases. If not operated on, they will be subjected to growth development with breathing difficulties in adulthood.
