The second phase of the Huai’an New Port will soon start operations, according to Jiangsu media on Sept 4.
In recent years, Huai’an city in East China’s Jiangsu province has constantly strengthened its container hub-port construction. It has expanded its upstream cargo source markets along the Huai River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, opened new shipping routes, increased existing routes’ shipping frequency and attracted more cargo carriers to use waterway shipment instead of road transport, so as to further boost the port’s throughput.
