Police in Nanjing has beefed up security around the venues of the ongoing World Roller Games 2017 that is attended by more than 5000 contestants from around the world. Some 1000 officers have been dispatched to maintain law and order at the main venues in the Youth Olympic Park, Longjiang Stadium and other places.
150 police officers were committed to tasks at theYouth Olympic Park alone. The Games will, for the first time in one city, see the World Championships of ten roller disciplines take place simultaneously between August 27 and September 10 featuring different competitions and held at indoor and outdoor facilities.
Events will consist of artistic, speed, rink hockey, inline hockey, roller freestyle, skateboarding, inline freestyle, inline downhill, roller derby and inline Alpine.
