Li Qiang, secretary of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee called for strenuous efforts to be made for rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics for the promotion of rural revival by highlighting the local flavors, displaying individuality characteristics, enhancing the pluralistic value and radiating endogenous vigor in a coordinated and orderly way. He made the remarks at the provincial working conference on the construction of rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics held Tuesday in Nanjing.
Li Qiang noted that Jiangsu has made remarkable progress in the promotion of its comprehensive strength and the urbanization development to a certain extent has paved the way for the promotion of rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics which is deemed as a barometer for the enhancement of the issues of agriculture, farmer and rural areas.
We must awaken the consciousness and rationality of village revival and recognize the value and mission of rural civilization, Li said.
Li Qiang pointed out that the CPC provincial committee and the provincial government has issued the guidelines on rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics by setting varied goals for the regional governments to accurately grasp the goal and orientation.
The CPC chief urged that regional governments should pay attention to the retention of pastoral flavor to prevent the occurrences of urbanized landscape in rural development and avoid over-commercialization and over-Westernization so as to make the new countryside in line with the rule of rural development featuring the characteristics of the country itself.
We should bring into full play the pilot demonstration work, strengthen the focus of the policy, step up the integration of construction force, and promote rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics in an orderly manner, said Li Qiang.
Official in charge with the provincial department of housing and urban-rural development briefed the participants on the status quo of rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics across the province.
Leading officials from pilot villages exchanged their views on the promotion of rural rejuvenation with pastoral characteristics.
The participants were impressed by the explorations and practices that have been made in Jiangning district, Nanjing city, when they were organized to go on an inspection tour in some villages.
