The 2017 Roller Games World Championships that began on Aug 27 will run to Sept 10 in Nanjing.
Before the opening of the event, Sabatino Aracu, president of the International Roller Sports Federation (FIRS), came to Nanjing with a 15-member group to inspect the layout and the construction status of venues.
On Aug 22, Aracu and his assistant visited the 2014 Sports Laboratory of the Nanjing Fish Mouth Wetland Park, which will host the aggressive skating and skateboarding competitions.
"All the preparations for the organizing committee have reached our expectations, and I believe that Nanjing will hold a successful World Championship," Aracu said.
Aracu also said, "Nanjing has a long history as an ancient city, and also a modern city. Modern and ancient elements collide in Nanjing to make the city seemed full of charm, and I believe that the development of roller skating in Nanjing will bring a lot of energy to this city.”
Finally, Aracu sent an invitation to all the young people in Nanjing. "Welcome to watch the 2017 Nanjing Roller Games World Championships," he said.
