"The more visible the security, the less visible your scooter is to thieves: adding extra security makes it harder for them to steal." This is the message the police in Huai’an city has tried to convey to the riders of scooters, motorcycles and mopeds, urging them to use more security to avoid the theft of their vehicles.

In the meantime, the police in Huai’an has volunteered to add an extra lock to the scooters in case the riders forget to lock their e-bikes.

A woman was recently seen requesting the help of an officer to open the lock to her scooter.

The woman surnamed Zhang said she forgot to lock her scooter in the morning when she was in a rush to get to work.

She had been extremely worried during the whole day as she forgot to pull off the key to the lock.

She had assumed that the scooter could have been stolen when she was off from her work.

As incredible as it could be, she found her scooter was right there but there was an extra lock.

The patrol squad of the police in Qingjiangpu district, Huai’an city, has noticed that some riders would forget to lock their scooters or pull out the keys to the scooters, thus making the scooters vulnerable to thieves.

The officers then bought 50 U-shaped locks to be added to the scooters which were unlocked. They would also leave behind their phone numbers for the riders to contact.

The officers would arrive at the site within five minutes after the riders make the phone call.
