The county level city of Xinghua has been included in the country’s list of top ten rural tourism destinations. The list was released by the National Tourism Administration recently following the result of an online voting.
Xinghua has become the only city in Jiangsu to be placed in the national list.
Over the past years Xinghua has gathered momentum in its tourism industry with the number of tourists received, the tourism revenue and the tourism impact growing year on year.
The number of tourists visiting Xinghua during this year’s rapeseed flower festival hit 2.15 million, growing 48.2% year on year.
In the meantime, the city’s tourism revenue shot up to 1.56 billion yuan last year, growing 56.6% year on year.
