The Hi-tech Zone of Wuxi and Alibaba's Ali Cloud Computing Co., Ltd. Has signed a strategic cooperation agreement to work together on the establishment of theXuelang Internet of Things town for the creation of a world-class Internet of Things demonstration project to boostthe development of the IoT sector.
The signing ceremony was held Wednesday morning in Wuxi, signaling the start of the world-class IoT town in Xuelang.
Li Xiaomin, member of the standing committee of the Jiangsu Provincial CPC committee and secretary of the Wuxi Municipal CPC committee, attended the signing ceremony and awarded the appointment letter to Dr. Wang Jian, Chairman of Technology Steering Committee at Alibaba Group Holding Limited and founder of Ali Cloud Computing.
The strategic partnership between Xuelang town and Yunqi town of Hangzhou will rely on manufacturing power of Jiangsu and the pilot project of Ali Cloud Computing in Hangzhou to boost industrial upgrading for China to grow from a large manufacturing country into a manufacturing powerhouseby awakening the traditional manufacturing industry through the application of big data, cloud computing and other Internet technologies and applications.
Covering an area of 3.5 square kilometers, the XuelangIoTtown is located in the core area of Wuxi Internet of Things in the Taihu Lake New Area.
Relying on Wuxi's solid foundation of the Internet of Things and the manufacturing industry, the IoTtown willbe guided by the idea of changing the world to bring together cultural functions such as cultural exhibition, innovation finance, intellectual life, industrial platform and so on.
The ultimate goal is to make the IoT town a demonstration project featuring innovation and exploration spirits, an important hotbed for the global IoTthinking and industrial development and an important platform to promote the comprehensive upgrade of the manufacturing sector.
By relying on the three major industrial parks, Wuxi will strive to build a cluster of flagship enterprises in the universal Internet era to create a third party platform that spearheads the future development of IoT.
Upon its operation, the XuelangIot town will echo each other with the YunqiIoT town, andWuzhenIoT town of Hangzhou to come up a new economic corridor in China's Yangtze River Delta region to jointly stimulate China's new economic development momentum.
