Prefabricated houses will become the mainstay in the city proper of Nanjing spanning 846 square kilometers starting in August, local sources said Tuesday.
The prefabricated construction will work best with the utilization of the building blocks such as the prefabricated beams, columns, the stairways and the balconies.
By putting together these blocks, a building will rise up with greater ease and fewer costs.
In Pukou district, for example, an apartment building for talents is slated for completion at the end of this year, six months ahead of schedule compared with the conventional building methods.
According to the city’s regulations on the promotion of prefabricated housing, prefabricated construction will become the routine for newly-commenced projects in the city proper that includes the three suburban areas of Dongshan, Xianlin and Jiangbei.
