The prices of crayfish have kept soaring as the heat wave has forced the creatures to escape the heat by burrowing in the mud, thereby bringing about a decrease in the harvest. the optimal temperatures for the growth of the crayfish are between 15 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius.
In the meantime, the hairy crabs have made the annual comeback though the roe of the female crabs has not ripened.
The lifting of the fishing ban in the Yellow Sea has produced an increasingly large amount of seafood. The prices of swimming crabs vary from 20 yuan to 80 yuan per kilo, depending on their sizes.
The high temperatures and rainy days have pushed up the prices of vegetables and market supply authorities across the province have been mobilized to transport vegetables from outside the province.
