The Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve in Yancheng city has photographed for the first time the entire process of egrets’ courtship, mating and reproduction.
Chen Weihhua, a park ranger with the nature reserve, was seen making detailed records of the monitoring on the egrets. The monitoring started in mid-June, Chen said.
In recent years, authorities in Yancheng have stepped up their efforts for the enhanced regulation and protection of the ecological environment which has become the ideal reproduction site for the egrets.
Every year from the beginning of March to the end of July a large number of egrets would fly to the protected area, nesting habitat for the reproduction of the descendants. The photography of the egrets’ entire process of reproduction is believed to be of certain value for the research on ecological environmental protection.
