The sizzling heat wave has turned out to be the toughest on those who must work outdoors in the sweltering days as road construction workers are devoted to their duties though the temperatures shot up to 36 degrees Celsius. Let’s take a close look.
The second layer asphalt paving is going on in the Taizhou segment of the Jiangdu-Guangling freeway.
Wang Shengguang, a senior technician, was seen measuring the evenness of the asphalt that had been paved on the road.
Wang, who has been working as a construction supervisor for the past two decades, is able to detect the compaction and evenness of the paved roads at his first glance.
The temperatures at the construction site were soaring but Wang has insisted on working at the site to ensure the quality of the pavement.
The earthwork filling for the Taizhou segment of the freeway has been completed with the building project,the Yinjianghe Bridge and Guangling transportation hub being progressed in full swing to ensure that the 8-lane freeway will open to traffic at the end of this year.
Construction on the comprehensive railway passenger transportation hub has entered the critical period with more than 400 workers engaged in the project against the sweltering temperatures.
The workers were dipping with sweat due to the scorching heat wave.
More than 400 workers and 100 machines are working at the site concurrently.
The contractor has adjusted the work schedule to help the workers avoid the high temperatures by working from 5 am to 10 am and 3 pm to 9 pm.
The work on the comprehensive passenger transport hub is nearing its end to be ready for the completion at the end of December.
